Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in a second grade classroom. Majority of the students in my classroom come from disadvantage backgrounds and I want to give them all the opportunities they deserve to be successful in the world. My students come to school with varying abilities, and our goal is to foster lifelong learners in a positive learning environment. At the second grade level, students are becoming more independent and beginning to read for learning as opposed to learning how to read. I want my students to be happy to come to school each day and to be eager to learn new things.
My Project
There is so much work that goes into preparing a classroom so that each one of my students can have the best academic, social, and emotional experience! Due to Covid-19, there a ton of resources that need to be adapted virtually and the Teachers Pay Teachers website has a lot of wonderfully created materials that can be used to help facilitate remote learning.
The resources, lessons and activities that I buy from Teachers Pay Teachers will help my students practice literacy and math.
However, most importantly to me is to find social emotional resources to help my students understand the new normal.
I would use this Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to buy differentiated materials that would help all my students access the information. It would allow me to provide materials to help students who are both below or above grade level by giving them material at their level. I can also buy different tools to help make remote learning more engaging for the students.
