This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hi there! I teach an amazing group of kindergarten students that come from diverse and unique ethnic backgrounds from around the city. My students are loving, dedicated and hardworking students who come into my classroom with a smile on their faces and a hunger for learning every day. They are always looking for ways to share their learning and help one another.

As I prepare now for a new school year, I am anticipating another incredible group of students.

Our school is a Title I Chicago Public School located in an urban environment with a tremendous school and amazing neighborhood community. Our staff, administrators, parents, and community members work together to provide the best education possible to our hard working and dedicated students.

My Project

No pandemic will stop me from helping my students learn the skills they need to be successful. My living room is now my classroom. Therefore, it is very important that I have the resources necessary to help them grasp the concepts and skills they need to succeed in the next school year.

My amazing students will be working incredibly hard to learn remotely.

However, my learners would benefit greatly from having materials, such as dry erase boards and headphones at home that can help them complete fun remote learning activities. It is very hard to provide students with an authentic classroom experience working remotely. With mini white boards and dry erase markers, I can confidently lead virtual lessons and know that every student will have what they need to participate!

It will also greatly improve my instruction to have technology supplies such as a laptop stand and WIFI extender to help deliver live and recorded instruction from my home.
