My Students
First grade in the best place in the world. It is a magical time where kids learn everything about their environment. They develop creativity and enhance their imagination. They become more independent, while still aiming to please!! They are inspired by the world around them. We are a Title I school, but we work hard to excel. All teachers work hard to provide the best-individualized education for all students. Our first-grade class is made up of students who are eager to learn about everything.
My Project
Each week my students fill their reading bags with new books to read at home. This project will add over 100 new books to our take home classroom library. The books send home are on each student's individual reading level.
These books will go home with students to help promote a love of reading inside and outside of the classroom!
I am filling our library so I can send ten books home per child each week. Plenty of material to last all week even during remote learning!
The excitement that my students get when they get to pick out new books is awesome. I love talking with my students about different books like Pete the Cat, Tiny, and many other books in this grant!
