My Students

My students are active and inquisitive second-grade students who work hard and are motivated to do well. We are an urban elementary school. More than half of our families are identified as low income and more than half of our students are second language learners.

We are an inclusion classroom with special education students, students with autism, and students with ADHD.

My students are energetic children who love to learn.

My Project

We need whiteboards and markers to show our thinking! In a Zoom meeting, just like in the classroom, students can hold up whiteboards with their work so the teacher can see the student's understanding of what is being taught.

The teacher can quickly scan the whiteboards and know which concepts to repeat, clear up any misconceptions, and move forward in the learning process without leaving any student behind.

Using whiteboards also makes all students responsible to participate in learning. They can also see that we all have strengths, we all make mistakes, and most importantly, we are all in this together. Our class is a safe place to make mistakes, to learn, and to succeed whether we are all together in a physical building or together using technology.
