My Students
I have a very dynamic group of 7th and 8th graders for ELA this year. They come from diverse backgrounds from all over the world. In ELA we get a chance to read about and explore a variety of ideas, discuss them in-depth, and write about them.
My task this year is to foster my students' lives as both readers and writers.
I am excited about the opportunity to guide their growth this year in ELA. It's going to be a great year.
My Project
Remote Learning has created a new challenge for me and my students. I have incorporated new systems, websites, and approaches in an effort to keep my students engaged and connected. It is a daily challenge to create remote learning experiences for them with the level of modeling that is so essential for academic success. With a document camera, I will be able to model different writing genres for students during lessons. Students will be able to co-draft writing with me in real-time. I will also be able to review drafts with students in order to provide personal feedback. Students will benefit greatly from this resource as we progress through the drafting process of our writing units.
A document camera will enable me to facilitate more live lessons with modeling and shared texts for my students to engage in during our remote learning.
It has been great to be able to connect to my students online. The next step is to focus our community and energy on moving our skills forward during this uniquely challenging time.
