My Students
I teach in a beautifully culturally diverse Title I School. I have 25 students who adore learning, but are facing the challenge of starting the year online. I believe these students should have the opportunity to know that they are an important part of our community, whether we are physically together or not.
My Project
The beginning of the year is all about learning about each other, establishing rapport, and creating routines and motivators. This year, we are beginning the year learning from home, remotely. To help motivate students to learn independently in a different environment, I want to create a mail reward system.
When students complete assignments, they will earn rewards that will be sent through the mail!
Based on my experience working with 2nd graders, I have chosen some of their favorite items (that fit in an envelope!) as rewards. I am hoping that creating this physical link to my students will give them that extra boost of motivation that I would normally give them in person!
