Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a group of fun, energetic, and eager to learn kids. Due to their young age, a lot of the learning happens through hands-on activities. For example, they will practice spelling sight words using shaving cream and their fingers on the desk.
My students are also very kind-hearted and giving.
They always attempt to help each other feel better when one of their peers is having a bad day by giving each other hugs or by attempting to make each other laugh.
My Project
I want to send materials that will help my students learn and stay motivated during this remote learning experience. This year, I will be teaching a special day class combination of grades TK to 1st. In order to help my younger students, I would want them to practice their writing at home using the sight work practice journals. This way they will have the opportunity to practice writing while they learn their sight words.
The linking cubes will be sent home as manipulatives for the students to use during our zoom sessions.
They can be used for math or during our phonics sessions to learn how to break down sounds. Furthermore, I want to keep my students motivated to learn and participate, so that is why I am asking for stickers that can I would be able to mail out to my students as rewards.
