Help me give my students the materials they need to create a more hands-on experience during remote learning. The materials our team has selected will be used to create at home learning tools for our diverse learners.
Each morning my preschool students log into their virtual classroom. They are just as eager to learn as if they were in our typical classroom setting. The scientists, engineers, explorers, artists, authors, architects, performers, builders, and above all else they are friends and each other’s teachers. My classroom is a blended preschool program that supports 30 students throughout the school day. Within this classroom, there is a wide range of abilities and needs including, children with special needs and English language learners. We modify and differentiate our curriculum so every student can participate at their level, apply what they have learned, and succeed.
Within our preschool program, the students’ interests drive the curriculum.
The classroom environment is designed with a range of hands-on materials, dynamic activities, a high level of questioning, and teacher support and encouragement to engage with their peers to find their own answers.
My Project
Our students are so eager to learn from home but need a few more materials. We will be working to create hands-on manipulatives so that the children learning at home can be using the same materials as their teachers on the screen!
They will have alphabet charts, number charts, name matching activities, and daily schedules.
This will allow for more hands-on learning, while still engaging in our virtual classroom every day. The ring light will provide better lighting so the children can see our whole face and the materials more clearly.
