My students need new and exciting materials that will help them take traditional and familiar children’s stories and provide them with hands-on opportunities to explore and solve complicated STEM problems. My students eagerly work together everyday to create, build, and investigate the world around them. My students are already familiar with so many traditional children’s tales. Connecting their literacy experiences with hands-on materials that explore deeper scientific problems will open a new world of questioning and support their ability to investigate and discover the answers to problems all around them. My hope is to cultivate a community of learners that are confident and eager to look beyond the obvious solution, but investigate deeper and new ways to solve problems.
