My Students
On March 16, 2020, I would have never thought it would be the last day I would be with my students. On March 16, 2020, my students did not think that they would not be returning to a place where they are safe and secure. A place where they know that their teacher cares for them as much as she cares for her own child.
On March 16th I would have never thought that my students would be getting their last hugs and hear the last face-to-face "Love you" from each of us for the 2020 school year.
My students are amazing! With all the challenges they face in their daily lives, they come to school on most days with such a positive attitude. We have formed such positive relationships that my students feel more comfortable and safe in their classroom. For many, the one place they could feel safe, secure and loved has been cut short due to COVID19 Pandemic. This has been one of the most difficult transitions they have ever experienced.
My Project
The goal for this project is to give students materials that will help them to unplug once in awhile.The materials in each student's care package are items we have in the classroom that they love to use for learning, such as white boards with markers and erasers (they love to free draw with the white boards) and writing journals with cool pens to write/draw about anything they want. Also, we have had many snacks and treats in the classroom and I've included many of their favorites.

What better way to de-stress than to write in a journal or draw on a white board while eating your favorite foods.
