This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students in the Bronx, are faced with some of the greatest challenges in life - living below poverty level, in broken homes or temporary housing; yet, we expect them to focus on education, because we are the consistent pillar in their lives.

My Project

These days nothing is normal about education. Our 5 and 6 year old students are video conferencing with us teachers, 2x a day from home. Their motivation to continue to learn is inspiring!

With the focus of all learning happening remotely, it is essential to have the right tools to be able to offer our students the best opportunity they deserve.

The face of teaching will never look the same again as educators are sitting for up to 10 hours a day behind a computer. The large screen laptop will allow me to create engaging lesson plans and presentation materials easily in small groups. The touch screen will be increasingly important when working with my Kindergarten students. The noise reducing headphones will assist me when video conferencing with students' families as well as helping the students interact in learning while staying focused.
