This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students came from different contexts and with different learning styles. Yet, there is one thing that they all share! They love to work on various tasks for both reading and social studies. They always come to class eager to learn and to work on different activities such as writing, reading, and presenting their outputs in class.
My sixth graders gleefully read different passages and write anything about what they have learned.
They are always eager to present to the big group their outputs and share ideas with one another!
My Project
As an ELA teacher, I give importance to reading comprehension skills of my students. To practice these skills, me and my students will connect it to various activities such as doing graphic organizers, charts, anecdotes, and even writing. I believe that whatever you learned through reading can be displayed when you also show various outputs that can be connected with reading comprehension!
Since we are doing remote learning now, not all of my students have the essential school supplies they can use at home.
It will really be great if they can have access to free school materials during these times. We will use these materials for reading and writing.
