Help me give my students an iPad and Apple Pencil for the remote classroom experience that each child deserves.

My Students
My students are from low income families across Brooklyn. These middle school students of mine are on the Autistic Disorders Spectrum and struggle with the traditional classroom learning styles. They need a variety of technological components to make their learning experiences as meaningful as those students in general education classrooms.
My students thrive with the use of technology.
Whether it may be using a Smart Board during instruction or using an IPad as their voice, they are finally able to do the things that we take for granted on a daily basis.
My Project
Since mid March, due to COVID-19, all schools in New York State including NYC switch to online remote learning. No one was really prepared for this transition yet alone trained for the task.
The hardest part of online remote teaching is our ASD population of students whose needs for learning are above what regular standards in remote learning has in place.
I am hoping with the technology I requested and my background in Tech that I can help bridge the gap for our students with disabilities. I will create methods of learning and teaching for students with disabilities so all can have a free appropriate public education!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
