Remote Counseling Environment

My Students

My AMAZING students come from a diverse background and keep me smiling every day. As a school counselor, I work with students with various needs and help them reach their full potential. Although it is my job to make each one of their days brighter, that is what they do for me! I work in a Title 1 school, meaning that a majority of our students fall below the poverty level. They are a great bunch of children and they keep me on my toes.

My Project

I have been a School Counselor for 15 plus years and love the interactions I have with my students. No day is ever the same and they constantly keep me on my toes. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, school counseling must be different this year. I always strive to create a safe environment for my students in the school building and this year, I could use some help in creating a welcoming, inviting environment remotely. I need materials to establish a remote counseling space. I am in desperate need of a laptop to conduct counseling sessions. I need a laptop with a camera and mic to be able to meet with my students and remain in contact with them. A chair is needed for me to be able to maintain eye contact with my students during remote sessions. Materials will be returned to the school setting once school is open and the chair will be used for flexible seating. I work with students of various ages and abilities but my goal for every student is the same; to help them recognize their strengths and always be the best versions of themselves.
