My Students

I am a first-grade teacher in a wonderful school in Wisconsin. My students are very special, and I just love going to school every day to see the sparkle in their little 5- to 8-year-old eyes.

Mt students love to read, and they are eager to learn!

I also get to connect with students of various ages during and after school. I truly have the most special job in the world and treasure every day with my students! We participate in so many fun activities throughout the year, and our hope is to add even more.

My Project

Kris Bonnell's Leveled Reading Books are amazing, and I am having fantastic results with them! I am a first-grade teacher and a licensed reading specialist, and I love my job. Every year, I get a new class of students. This year, like most, I have a mix of students reading at all different levels. We need to add more books to our library. I have the expertise to move these students ahead and build them into strong, solid, confident readers, but I need leveled books! Research shows that the most effective way to help students learn to read is through practice at a student's level of understanding.

Students love to read when the books chosen for them are fun and at a level that they can understand!

I am requesting level these books, to help all of my students who are reading at different levels, from struggling to advanced! These books will be used many times over, and will be one of my most important tools for getting my students to be well-prepared for 2nd grade! I want all of my readers to fall in love with reading! Having these leveled books, will really help me to make reading fun for my students! These super, fun books are fantastic because they are loaded with wonderful photographs and interesting topics that students love to read about, and I have already had AMAZING success with the first set that I received from donors on this website. They truly make a difference and help my students to grow by leaps and bounds!
