Help me give my students the complete series of Eyewitness Nonfiction Readers to boost their interest in informative text and make nonfiction reading literally come alive!
I teach an accelerated second grade class at a Title I school where sixty-one percent of students qualify for free or reduced price lunch. My students come from a wide range of households speaking many different languages and having varying levels of access to learning opportunities outside of school.
What binds my students together is their sense of a class family.
They know that when they enter their classroom, they can count on each other for help, advice, and encouragement. Most of our activities are based on cooperative learning and teamwork.
My Project
My students are voracious readers who love to pore over anything related to history or science. They especially enjoy reading in pairs and sharing newly-learned facts with their friends. Their excitement is palpable and a joy to watch!
My students need captivating, high-quality nonfiction books, like the beautifully illustrated Eyewitness Readers, to read with a classmate and share the experience of learning about the world around them and beyond.
These remarkable books will build content knowledge while riveting my budding historians and scientists, keeping that flame of lifelong learning alive!
