My students need working headphones and computer mouses in order to participate in reading and math computer games that will accelerate their learning.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in South Louisiana. The students whom I service comes from very low socioeconomic households. Currently, 100% of our school’s students receive free breakfast and lunch. My classroom is composed of students who all enjoy learning in their own ways.
As their teacher, it is my job to inspire a love for learning.
While this happens on a daily basis, sometimes it is difficult to inspire when the technology in my classroom is not reliable or up-to-date.
My Project
Currently, I do not have a working class set of headphones for my computer center. With working, colored-coordinated headphones and mice, my students will be able to actively participate in computer games that will accelerate their learning. It will also allow my students the opportunity to develop and refine their computer skills. Technology is now ever present, and in order to make sure that my student can actively participate in this ever changing world of technology, I need to provide them with access to working technology in my classroom. These computer headphones and mice will help to introduce basic computer skills.
