This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As someone who enjoys reading, I think one of the most important things a teacher can do is put a good book in a student's hands! I absolutely love seeing my students read a book that they can't put down. That is why it is important to me to have a variety of novels and texts in our classroom library so every student can find a book that they love.
This project will stock our classroom library shelves with relevant, engaging non-fiction texts, thus supporting each student in finding a book that they love so much they can't put it down!
These books will also support students in practicing their reading skills independently. Many skills are learned with non-fiction texts, therefore, it is important independent non-fiction texts are made available to students too.
