Students are able to work independently on their computers without being distracted by surrounding noise. Many of our programs include audio directions, read-aloud features, and interactive learning tools, and the headphones allow students to fully engage with these resources and stay focused from start to finish.\r\n\r\nMy students are especially excited that they can clearly hear their stories, learning games, and lessons without interruption. I'm also now able to pull small groups for targeted reading and math instruction while the rest of the class continues working productively. This was something that was much more difficult when the room became noisy.\r\n\r\nYour donation has truly improved our classroom environment and helped create calmer, more focused learning time for everyone. We are incredibly grateful for your support and investment in our students' success. Your generosity has had a meaningful impact on our classroom and on the way our students experience music.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the Boomwhackers, our students have been able to explore music in a way that is hands-on, interactive, and joyful. The colorful instruments immediately capture their attention and invite them to participate. Even students who are usually shy or hesitant have found themselves eager to join in, discovering that they can contribute to the group's sound and rhythm.\r\n\r\nThis project has also encouraged teamwork and collaboration. Because each Boomwhacker plays only one pitch, students must listen carefully to one another and work together to create songs. They are learning not only about rhythm, melody, and harmony, but also about patience, cooperation, and the value of every voice in the ensemble.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the Boomwhackers have made music accessible to all students, regardless of their background or prior musical experience. They are building confidence, expressing themselves creatively, and finding joy in making music together.\r\nWe are so grateful for your support. Students are having so much fun learning with these activities - the students don't even realize it is \"work time\" and think they are getting to play all day at school! Students with extensive support needs require specialized instruction, a nontraditional classroom setup, and unique activities to teach new skills. The traditional paper-and-pencil learning is not accessible for my students, and for years, I spent countless hours developing accessible learning activities on my own. This project built up our classroom library of learning activities for a wide range of early academic skills. The library of activities has also helped me to conduct more thorough and meaningful evaluations to accurately assess my students' progress, especially for those students who have difficulty communicating using conventional communication modalities. Thank you so much for believing in the power of learning through play and supporting our students.","fullyFundedDate":1734822272572,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-play-nonverbal-learnin/8916530/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Play: Nonverbal Learning Tools for Students with Disabilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bresee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6518873_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673734651900","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6518873"},{"teacherId":3985344,"projectId":8915442,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for all that you have done!
