Relaxing While Reading!!!

Help me give my students a special place to read and relax in the library.

My Project

Sometimes students need a special place to just sit and relax with a good book to make reading a little more enjoyable. That's what I want to create in a corner of my library and this chair would be the perfect addition to that space.

Can you imagine being stressed at school and just needing a comfortable relaxing place to sit down with a good book and take a moment to gather yourself together?

That's what I'm hoping will happen when students (and teachers) realize there is a reclining massage chair in the corner of our library! I plan to add a small rug, reading lamp, and table to the "relaxation" corner so that anyone who just needs a spot to grab a book and kick back for a second to catch their breath, breathe deeply, and refocus so they can continue on with their day in a productive way. I am hoping that by having such a calm space in the library, it will encourage more people to visit the library and also find a greater pleasure in reading! I'm hoping they will begin to associate being relaxed and calm to reading and those positive feelings will encourage them to read even more as they discover the "magic" of reading and books! Plus sometimes students need something to give them that "mental break" so they can calm down and get themselves together. My students already love books and love visiting the library and I'm hoping this will be one more thing that makes their time in the library even more special!
