The students love to sit in it and read for a little bit along with a comfy quilt and their favorite book! They get so excited to have their time in the chair and it's fun seeing them take the time to relax and enjoy their book! \r\nWhen they first saw the chair, they were immediately so excited to try it out and it has now become the favorite spot in the library. Many of them have gone home and created their own little reading corners as a result and parents have commented how nice it is to see their children taking time to sit and read their books! What a great example the library has been to these kiddos! I hope that they will always find time in their lives to kick back and relax with books! Thank you so much for helping to make this \"magic\" come alive in their lives and for funding this fun project! I was able to tell them about our donors who took the time to help us and that has been such an example to them too! Our season ends next week, and we have had a blast so far! Our club runs for six weeks and leads up to the Fun Run that our community has every year. Students have worked so hard and have all become better runners. \r\n\r\nEach Wednesday afternoon, students head out to the playground loop with water bottles in hand. After a quick warm up, students take off running the .2 mile loop around the playground. Each time they come back to the start, they scan their badge using the tracker app on the iPads. They love scanning their badge each time, grabbing a sip of water, and beginning their next lap. The iPads have allowed us to track each individual child's laps, mileage, and times in an organized way. Students have been awarded mileage tags for reaching 3,5,7 and 10 miles! As a group, our club is nearing the 200 mile mark for the season! \r\n\r\nI was both surprised and thrilled to have 25 students sign up for Run Club this season. I would have never been able to keep up with their data and progress without the resource of the iPads. Thank you so much for believing in what our club is here to do. Everything arrived and we have been using them a LOT! The kids were amazed when I told them how we got these things and how kindhearted, generous people went above and beyond and helped us out! Some were people I knew and some were complete strangers who just happen to take the time out of their busy lives to reach out and help others! They just couldn't believe people would do that!!!!! Thank you for setting that fine example of compassion and caring for my students! Some of them have been inspired by your generosity and want to go on to help others! We had a HUGE discussion about how EVERYONE can take the time to help lift others! \r\nAs for the materials, they are TOP NOTCH! The clipboards are colorful, sturdy, and we use them all the time! It makes keeping their materials much easier and organized in class. The speaker is also amazing and they love the extra \"bass\" that is now in the music we play and the videos we watch that go with the books we are reading! It just gives us a little extra boost! Again, thank you for helping us and for being so kind and thoughtful!
