Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a very high poverty city where many of my students don't have a bedroom or even a bed. Covid 19 hit these families very hard and many families have had to move in with relatives and the homes are super crowded. I want to create a space in my classroom that is just their own. A place where they can go and snuggle up and read a book. I want the reading corner to be inviting with colorful and motivational pillows as well as a couch that they can plop down on and get comfy. I also want to be able to turn off the classroom lights and have various different types of lighting to make the space come alive.
