Words cannot describe how excited I am to have my first classroom! Due to the fact this is my first year teaching, I am trying to grow and expand my resources!
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds, with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the city, where students speak a multitude of languages.
As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Every day I make sure to welcome my students with a smile on my face and in return, they smile back, ready to learn and succeed.
Despite many hardships my students may face, they are eager and put in their best effort. They know that our classroom is never about a perfect outcome, it is instead about the risks and effort put forth. My students certainly deserve a successful and engaging classroom where they can become lifelong learners.
My Project
Dear DonorsChoose I am hoping to receive some stress relievers to use in my classroom. Some studies have shown that the scent of lavender can be relaxing and helpful when students are trying to complete their work and additional tasks throughout their school day. I am hoping to implement this relaxing scent into our classroom. With the soft aromas in the air students will breathe these in and their bodies will be calm and it will help them focus more on their reading, mathematics, and other curriculum we learn. In addition to this relaxing since I am also hoping to receive additional stress relievers such as squeeze balls. These tools help students to focus and it can help other students will leave their anxiety during the school day. Squeeze balls allow students to get their aniexty or stress out and help them regulate in order to complete their work.
