Creating a Relaxation Station in the library is about creating a safe and calming space for students. Sometimes, in a busy school environment, kids just need a quiet spot to de-stress and refocus. This is where the comfy pillows, fidget toys, and coloring pages come in! Curling up with a soft pillow and coloring a whimsical picture can be a great way to take a mental break and return to class feeling refreshed. For students who are easily distracted by noise, noise-reducing headphones can provide a much-needed escape from the classroom bustle.
Our goals for this project are to equip students with self-regulation skills and foster a love of learning in a supportive environment.
We hope to empower them to take charge of their emotional well-being by providing them with tools to manage stress and anxiety.
What makes our students special? Everything! Each child brings their unique personality, talents, and experiences to our library. The Relaxation Station is a way to celebrate that individuality by offering a space where everyone feels comfortable and supported.
