it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to help my students stay motivated and have fun learning.
My students enjoy coming to school each day.
The love learning and researching new things. They just need the tools that will help them achieve these goals. Our students range from visual to tactile learners. They work best with color coded charts showing them each step of the way.
My Project
Many of our students live in temporary housing or have Attention Deficit Disorders, and can benefit from mindfulness and breathing with the equipment requested. This year, we are focusing on mindfulness training to implement with our students. It can help improve sleep and address self esteem.
Mindfulness training will help our students deal with stress, anxiety, and depression.
Our students can benefit from mindfulness and breathing with the equipment requested such as yoga floor chairs and blocks. When a student needs to take a break, they can come to the Zen room relax, on the yoga Jack floor chair, to refocus By providing a quiet and mindful room, our students can have a space to deal with their feelings and refocus. This will certainly assist them with coping skills and student achievement.
