Your donations through DonorsChoose have had a truly meaningful impact on our students and on the learning experiences we are able to provide every single day.\r\nWith the lamination sheets, printer, and ink alone, we have been able to create so many important and lasting curriculum materials. As we learned about trees, leaves, seeds, roots, and trunks, we printed and laminated clear diagrams and visuals that helped the children better understand how trees grow and change. These materials are now part of our classroom resources and can be reused throughout the year, allowing children to revisit concepts, ask questions, and deepen their learning.\r\n\r\nWe also used the printer to create engaging visuals for class discussions and decision-making. During our study of balls, we printed pictures of different types of balls, which allowed the children to vote on their favorites. This simple activity supported math skills like counting and comparing votes, as well as literacy skills through labeling, vocabulary, and conversation. These printed materials have also been used for our word wall, math activities, bulletin boards, and center work, helping to make our classroom both beautiful and highly engaging.\r\n\r\nOne especially meaningful way we used the laminator was to create puppets inspired by the book Bear Snores On. We printed, cut, and laminated characters so the children could act out the story together. This activity helped strengthen our classroom community, encouraged expressive language and storytelling, and supported our learning about winter animals. We connected this experience to the holiday season by sharing special treats such as hot chocolate and popcorn, turning story time into a warm, joyful celebration that the children looked forward to and talked about for days.\r\nThe kinetic sand has also been a huge hit. It has provided calming, soothing sensory experiences for our students while encouraging imaginative and creative play. Children have used it to build, explore textures, and collaborate with peers, supporting social-emotional growth alongside fine motor development.\r\n\r\nIn addition, we used the printer and laminator to create engaging, reusable materials for our meeting area. These include visuals for learning about the weather and the days of the week in both English and Italian. Having clear, colorful materials at the children's eye level has helped build routine, vocabulary, and confidence, while making our daily meetings interactive and inclusive.\r\n\r\nThank you for caring so deeply about our students. Your gifts have made a tremendous difference in their learning, engagement, sense of community, and overall joy at school. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for believing in our classroom. Take to heart that you have made a significant impact on these children' s lives. \r\n\r\nWith heartfelt thanks — grazie di cuore,\r\nMs. Ellen Rebecca Wood \r\nP.S. 242 Young Diplomats Magnet Academy, Pre K 151","fullyFundedDate":1760226617919,"projectUrl":"project/feed-and-provide-educational-materials-f/9727678/","projectTitle":"Feed and Provide Educational Materials for our Kids!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wood","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10269011_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759683978423","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-ellewood"},{"teacherId":12716,"projectId":9012957,"letterContent":"My students love reading the book and interacting with Powerful Pencil ✏️ and Successful Stapler.
