My First Graders are constantly asking me if they can lie down and read. Well, the floor is not a cozy spot to curl up with a book, but a rug would really help the situation. Lying down and reading relaxes the students and allows the students to fully engage in the story they are reading.
My students are a group of highly motivated and inquisitive First Graders.
They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and thrive in the learning environment that I have provided. They love to learn! Partner reading is one of their favorite activities They constantly ask,"can we lay down?" a rug would allow them to do just that and feel special. It would brighten up the classroom and liven up independent and partner reading time.
My Project
The students would feel happy and enthusiastic about partner and independent reading when doing so on this fabulous literacy rug. They would be comfortable and happy while reading. They would enjoy their reading time more and their reading would flourish from their desire to want to read more as a result of this fabulous rug! Just picture yourself reading. Don't you like to be comfy and cozy when you curl up with a good book? Well, that's all these 6 and 7 year olds want, too. This could start a lifelong love of reading for a child. You could make a difference in the life of a child simply by donating to this project.
Donations to this project will impact a child's love of reading.
It will impact a child's desire to read. It will impact a child's future. Reading can take a child places that he or she has never been before. It is a wonderful magical journey. Shouldn't the children be comfy and cozy on this journey? They will enjoy it more if they are and will be more apt to take the journey again!
