I am a sixth grade teacher at Anthony Bowen Elementary School. The school is great, but we do not have a lot of money. Most of the students are on free lunches and come from public housing. The drug and crime rate is very high in this area. The students here have a lot to deal with in their everyday lives. This is why I have so much enthusiasm for a new reading club I am launching this year. Since the beginning of the school year, I have been reading different books to my class, which is made up of 9 special education students and 17 regular education students. I want them to learn to enjoy reading. I have now started reading the book "We Beat the Street" to my class. The class is really enjoying the book. The problem is that we only have one copy, and it is hard for the class to really relate to the author and get the true meaning of the book without each student having his/her own copy. Please help us get 35 more copies of this book. Thank you.
