Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Freshman Honors English class will read this for their unit about leadership.

The graphic novel version of 1984 transforms the classic narrative into a multi-layered learning experience.

By engaging with both text and visuals, students develop advanced literacy skills—they learn to decode images, infer meaning, and draw connections between artistic expression and literary themes. This dual modality makes the material more accessible and engaging, particularly for students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and reluctant readers.

The primary goals of this project are to:

*Enhance Critical Thinking: Encourage students to analyze and interpret complex narratives and visuals.

*Boost Engagement: Use the dynamic graphic novel format to spark curiosity and make literature more approachable.

*Promote Inclusivity: Provide diverse learners with a resource that meets their varied learning needs and interests.

Our students are special because of their unique blend of creativity, resilience, and diverse perspectives. They bring life to every discussion with their varied experiences and are eager to explore new ways of learning. This project is designed to honor that diversity, allowing each student to engage with challenging content in a way that resonates with their individual learning style.
