Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I campus which means it is a school of high poverty. Many of our parents work multiple jobs to make ends meet. It is a neighborhood school, and most students walk to school. Eighty percent of my students are English Language Learners who struggle with reading and math.
Classrooms which are student-centered are successful.
My goal is to increase engagement in a student-centered classroom to help set up my students for success. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, projects and options to help meet students where they are and achieve their goals.
My Project
We are re-imagining the classroom this year. We want our room to look more like a 2020 classroom rather than a 1985 classroom. These earbuds will help my students participate in personalized learning in a 1:1 Chromebook classroom. We are a student-centered learning environment where the tasks are assigned by level and personalized to each student. These earbuds will help students focus and stay on task to be as successful as possible. Earbuds are just like pencils, an essential tool in the 21st century learning environment. This 21st century learning environment helps us become innovative designers, creative communicators, knowledge constructors and empowered learners.
