This is the second-year of our charter school with grades k through 9. We began this school year with 570 students. The majority of our students are military dependents. We are located adjacent to a military institution which is in the low-income region of our city.
I teach 9 sections of STEM/Physics to a total of 165 students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th grade, who are fascinated by science and love doing labs and experiments.
We have multiple building sets that are missing pieces and can't be used to their fullest extent. We also need items that will bring the wonder of physics into our classroom.
These battery eliminator packs will replace the broken pieces we currently have in our Snap Circuit Kits. This will enable students to build again with workable parts. Students have been trying to use battery packs that have broken wires, this doesn't allow them to complete their projects without becoming frustrated. Another positive aspect of getting these parts is that we will not have to purchase batteries each month and fill up our landfills with toxic chemicals. The students came up with this idea and are excited that the battery packs came with different voltage choices they could pick when building their circuits.
