Refrigerator Needed for High Needs and Medically Fragile Students
Help me give my students this refrigerator to serve multi-purposes in the special education office. It will store the special food and medicine of high needs special education students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
No one thing makes my students; instead, it is a combination of things that make my students unique and special. Throughout my years of teaching, I have learned so much from my students. For example, how to be accepting, caring, open-minded, and have a positive attitude. My school is located in Manhattan and is predominately a commuter school meaning the students travel from all over NYC (i.e., the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Manhattan).
I am a special education teacher at my high school, serving 386 special education students.
There are 40+ special education teachers, paraprofessionals, school psychologists, counselors, and other support staff to help meet the needs of these students. Many of these students require a great deal of support.
My Project
This refrigerator will serve multi-purposes in the special education office. It will store the special food and medicine of high needs special education students; it will hold the food of special education students who find the cafeteria too big and overwhelming to eat in, so they in the special education office, and it will store the food of the support staff who work with these students and often need to eat with them.
Our old refrigerator, which broke, was also a donation before the days of Donors Choose and was donated to serve the needs of a special education student who needed her medicine stored in refrigeration.
It served countless students and staff over the years, and this donation will do the same. I sincerely thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness.
