Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I create blended-learning lesson plans for my 6th grade science classroom, which means I plan to integrate the use of technology in various lessons. My goal for this project is to replace broken hardwire with newer pieces that will last me years. This will make it much easier to integrate technology in the lesson and I can evenly and fairly distribute computers and headphones to each of my students when a lesson calls for it.

I work in a rural setting in a Title I school.

My students try their best most days, and some students may need accommodations that are best met with using technology. I currently have an ELL student who relies on subtitles and changing the language from English to Spanish. I also have and have had students who work more independently and need to listen to a particular lesson multiple times in a class period or type their writing responses.

They enjoy science class and how varied the type of lessons we do in 6th grade earth science. Some lessons that I use technology in earth science include GIZMO [these are our virtual science labs], Brainpop, Flocabulary [a learning platform that focuses on music and rhythm on a particular subject], and Discovery Education.
