Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In third grade, readers are transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn. These beginning chapter books, graphic novels, and picture books are a perfect way to help students with that transition. These books are high-interest with great vocabulary and ideas while offering the picture support that some students still require to understand.
These high-interest, beginning chapter books will allow students to explore the idea of reading a chapter book without being scary.
The layout of these books will help make the transition from reading shorter picture books to longer chapter books a perfect fit. These books are written with shorter chapters and plenty of picture support. The idea of reading chapter books can be intimidating to students but with these high-interest books that feeling can disappear. Everyone will have access to what's inside the book.
This project is for Judy Moody, Stink & Scaredy Squirrel!
