Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over the school year several of our older maracas broke. Students of all grades greatly enjoy playing them, so we are looking to replace them with a durable set.

3rd-grade students were gifted recorders for their home use this year.

They were incredibly grateful, and we want to make this an annual tradition. Over two months they have worked hard on learning to play the instrument and are excited to continue during the summer on their home recorders.

Several of our music projects have involved drawing or writing this year. With 270 students, we use a lot of pencils. These will replace what we used for the school year.

And lastly, we are looking to add one more keyboard to our set so there are enough for rotating stations. This gives students the ability to work on keyboards with headphones for 15 minutes, another instrument station for 15 minutes, and a theory project or game for 15 minutes.
