Help me give my students basic supplies that we need for your room! We need to replace materials like playdough, shaving cream, folders, and organizers. We also really need new seating for small groups!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is a low-income, urban school in Baltimore City. I have an amazing group of 1st-grade students who are working daily to be independent learners. These students are given the chance to build critical literacy, math, and social-emotional skills in an early childhood center environment.
My classroom is a space where all students come to explore, learn, create, and grow.
I want to instill independence by giving students opportunities to work closely with each other and form learning spaces. I work to meet the needs of all my students and give them learning opportunities that fit their learning styles and needs.
My Project
We are working to give my students new materials to keep them enagaged and learning. We need playdough and shaving cream to help make sight words, spelling words, and practice sounds! We will use these materials every day! Sheet protectors, erasers and folders are all replacement items that we really need for learning. We constantly use dry erase markers for learning in all subjects; they are a quick and engaging tool and these supplies will replenish what we are missing.
We don't have space for all our learning so we really would love the stools to help make a small group space!
The stools and caddies will be used for the students daily. The groups will keep their supplies that they need for learning. The mailbox is another essential thing. My students really need organization skills for all their home materials. All their finished work will go in the mailboxes along with homework, newsletters and more!
