My Project
Our school media center is a vital resource for our Tiger Community, providing access to a wide range of books that support their learning & inspire their imaginations. In order to provide a robust and diverse collection of resources to our students we need to expand and update our current collection.
It is crucial to make sure students can see themselves in the collection.
As Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop said, "Books are sometimes windows, offering views of worlds that may be real or imagined, familiar or strange. These windows are also sliding glass doors, and readers have only to walk through in imagination to become part of whatever world has been created or recreated by the author. When lighting conditions are just right, however, a window can also be a mirror. Literature transforms human experience and reflects it back to us, and in that reflection we can see our own lives and experiences as part of the larger human experience. Reading, then, becomes a means of self-affirmation, and readers often seek their mirrors in books."
Your support will help us provide a quality media center collection with more current and diverse materials. As well as, foster a love of reading that can lead to lifelong learning and personal growth.
