Reflecting on Learning

My students need picnic tables. Tables will allow a space for students to sit and reflect on their learning in their writing journals. Picnic tables will also allow classes an opportunity to take the classroom outside.

My Students

My students are 9-11 year old bundles of energy. More than 70% of my students receive free/reduced-price lunch. Our school has a great amount of community involvement, but we lack the resources needed to ensure that all of our students get the best education experience possible. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to have access to education resources, materials, and experiences.

My students are AMAZING!

Our school mission is to prepare students to become responsible and productive citizens in today's ever-changing society. We believe it is our obligation to help the students accomplish this by providing a variety of educational experiences in a safe and positive environment.

My Project

Our school is working to build an outdoor classroom where students can use hands-on methods to learn about our world. Picnic tables will allow a space for students to sit and reflect on their learning in their writing journals.

Picnic tables will also allow classes an opportunity to take the classroom outside on beautiful days.

We have several classes with projects in the works such as a compost box, vegetables in the raised garden, bird watching area and a weather station with a barometer. The implementation of our outdoor classroom has been a big hit with our students who love to get their hands dirty and minds full!!
