My Project
When students visit our school's media center, they always ask, "Do you have any new books?" They're especially interested in reading books that feature people or characters who look like they do or that reflect experiences similar to their own, so it is critical that our media center collection includes titles that allow students to see themselves represented.
This project will bring our readers a variety of new books that celebrate and highlight the diverse population of readers in our school community so that everyone is able to see themselves reflected in the media center collection.
The titles include books for all interests and ranges of readers, from picture books and poetry to biographies and graphic novels. There's something for everyone, which will help to support our goal of engaging readers while building a love of reading that will last a lifetime.
