This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love coming to work every day because I get to share my love of art, history, and mathematics with my students. In return, they are teaching me about their personal culture. Most of my students come from low-income homes where they experience many struggles daily. But do they show this? No, they show me that the world will not bring them down and that they are excited to learn something new every day when they walk into my room.

One thing our art department desperately needs is a color printer that can keep up with printing reference photos for all our amazing art students.

So many of the projects that Mr. Hetzel (Co-Art Teacher) and myself do are in need of reference images from animals, humans, and objects. Right now the entire staff at our school share one mass color printer all the way on the other side of the school.

It would be so much more effective for our fine arts department to have a color printer stationed in our area to share. This printer, if funded would benefit the entire visual arts department because we are all housed in the same wing.

Thank you for your consideration. I can't wait to share with you the results of our first project that we get to use this printer with.
