My students need "reeding" materials to help them succeed! Reeds can get expensive for the woodwind players and new concert music is always exciting. Having both these materials in the classroom will ensure success! My students also need new music.

My Students
I teach at a school in North Carolina where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. They are provided with a snack fridge in the hallways that they can select from during class change times. My students come from various backgrounds and have suffered many hardships in their short lives. They struggle with learning right from wrong and how to properly show support to one another. With so many challenges they still come to class eager to learn.
My Project
There is a lot of reading that takes place in band. For starts the woodwind players need "reeds" to make their instruments play and these can get expensive. By providing these materials in class my students will not have to play on old/broken reeds.
All students LOVE playing new and exciting music!
With good reeds to help them sound better, we also need some new, current music that they will enjoy performing. Songs have been selected in correlation with our method book that we use daily. Students will be able to take the lessons from the method book and apply them directly to the concert music for our spring concert.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
