My Project

I teach first and second grade special education. My students are always eager to explore and learn new things . Earth Day is a magical day where we will talk and learn about the different ways we can make earth a better place to live. First of all, by reading stories about recycling, reuse and reduce and asking questions about Earth Day. Next, Students love to explore new things by using their sensory input.

My students will be learning about how can we keep our earth healthy.

The students will plant flowers and make art projects . This will be a learning experience while using fine motor skills and understanding the procedures on how to plant a flower correctly. As an special education teacher, my students like to explore and learn new things by building puzzles together. This will help with their fine motor skills , sensory skills and working together as a team.

My students stive on sensory ! They like to explore and use their imagination by using their senses. Such as deem lights . This is a great sensory tool to overcome their behaviors and calm them down by using a light source in the classroom. My students would enjoy the solar light by watching the solar system on the ceiling or wall. This would help with their emotional state while exploring the solar light. My students would learn the solar system as well as why the earth is an important place to live. Finally, We as educators love to build new learning centers that our students would enjoy. My students would benefit from having these items in the classroom to enhance their learning even more! I love to see the excitement when they explore and learn new things .
