My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Some have lived locally their entire lives and others have recently moved to area from another country. They come into my class with varying levels of education and understanding of the English language. Some have already seen the math concepts covered in my Algebra class and others are on an elementary math level, still struggling with the basic operations.

My students are so much more than where they came from or what educational experiences they had prior to stepping foot in my classroom.

They are athletes, artists, friends, siblings, some are providers for their families, and many of them have had to grow up too fast. Some have gone through more in their lifetime than I could ever imagine and they deserve a positive school experience.

As 9th graders, they are in a crucial year in their schooling. This year can be a turning point in many of their lives as they transition to high school and start to think about the future. I want to provide a positive learning environment for these students to thrive in and I could use your help!

My Project

These requested Furniture Footies tennis ball chair protectors for the bottom of their chairs can reduce the noise in the classroom when students move in their seats, as well as add a little extra bounce to help students focus.

Many of my students have ADD and ADHD and will benefit from the bouncing effect to help them focus on learning.

These students have trouble staying in their seats for a full eighty-four minute block and each time they get up, the learning environment is disturbed by the sound of the chairs moving on the tile floor. The bouncing effect of these tennis balls will provide a small outlet for the students' energy.
