Recycling Resources

Help me give my students tools and equipment to help run a can/bottle recycling program at school.

My Project

Students may think of recycling as a laborious job. If recycling was made a little more fun, students might be more inclined to participate. In their science classes, students are taught about limited resources and the importance of taking care of their environment. A recycling program may encourage them to instinctively think twice before throwing something into the garbage directly to be taken to the landfill.

By providing tools like grabbers, crushers, and digital scales, students may get competitively excited about collecting recyclables.

Although the program may start with cans and bottles, it could include markers, batteries, and sneakers. Students may even be able to use funds raised from the redemption of cans and bottles for donations, purchasing additional supplies, or rewards.
