FULLY FUNDED! Ms. A.'s classroom raised $264
This project is fully funded
One of my most vivid memories of elementary school was doing a social studies project about recycled paper. During the project I learned about recycling and the impact of our paper waste on the environment. I also learned how beautiful recycled paper can be because I made some at home in the kitchen. When I went to college I learned more about the long history of paper making and the different ways that paper is made around the world and how it is made for various applications.
As the art teacher at a year round elementary school in Wake County, NC, I would like to tie into the school paper recycling program we have recently started. I want to show students exactly how paper can be recycled and actually recycle some ourselves! In order for paper making to be manageable and successful in the classroom, some reusable equipment is needed. I would love to set up two paper making stations, each with a wood and wire frame for shaking the paper pulp, a press to squeeze out the excess water, and blotters to keep the paper from falling apart before it dries. I plan to allow groups of students to work on recycling paper to be used in collage and card making. This request is for two kits for classroom paper making stations. I really hope that you will consider funding this proposal so that I can teach my students about the art of paper making and hopefully give them a new appreciation for recycling in the process.
