This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students in third grade are full of energy, and they are very active both physically and mentally. My students spend their morning writing, reading, and learning math. My students love to write personal narratives during their writing workshop, and by the time they move onto their reading block, they are more than ready to settle into their favorite non- fiction topic. They are very enthusiastic to share what they have learned and add their opinions about what they think we all should do to preserve animals that might become extinct, and how to preserve the rain forests in the world.
My third graders also enjoy having fun at recess, during which they play soccer, tag, jump rope, but some days fun must happen indoors due to inclement weather.
When my students are indoors they enjoy activities such as drawing. I have a nice collection of Titanic pictures hanging on my whiteboard, playing hangman, Uno, or just doing puzzles. They have fun challenging each other with riddles that they just made up. They also read about dinosaurs and write stories with illustrations.
My Project
The games that my students will enjoy during indoor recess, such as See Inside Magnetic Blocks, 3D Magnetic Builders, Log builder Master set, Poppa's Pizza topple game, and Translucent Imagination builders will help them to enhance their imagination, and also put in practice their sharing and team working skills.
With these fun games, my students will engage in small team collaboration that will sharpen their thinking and social skills, and will also teach them that indoor recess due to adverse weather can be as much fun as being outdoors.
My third graders will wish that they might have indoor recess every day!!
