My students need Nonfiction comprehension cards, comprehension strategies and small group comprehension folders to increase reading comprehension.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Clyma's classroom raised $510
This project is fully funded
My Students
In March our school was hit by a tornado. Most of the items in the sixth grade language arts classroom could not be salvaged. This project will help recover some of the items that were lost due to the storm.
We have over seventy percent of our students on free and reduced-price lunch program.
Our students come from low income families where the parents work two or three jobs just to make ends meet. The families at our school do not have much, if any, money leftover to buy school supplies or extras for school.
My Project
We will use the Nonfiction comprehension cards, comprehension strategies and small group comprehension folders we are requesting for comprehension centers and writing centers. The material will also be used during RTI to help bring up the reading level of our struggling readers, as morning work and for test review at the end of the year.
This will be my first year teaching language arts and the class I am taking over was badly damaged by the tornado because of this I have very few teaching materials for next year.
This will change my students lives by enriching their education and helping us get off to a great start next year.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
