Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom for computer programming and game design includes a piano practice room that got filled with storage items when the music program was replaced with computer science.
This project puts the art back in STEAM by making sure our student game designers have the opportunity to exercise their full creativity when it comes to recording their own sound effects, dialogue, and music.
Students will prepare this room with the 10 Piece Pro Grade- Paint Roller Set and THE ONE Paint & Primer (Dark Grey). They will soundproof it with Kaspien Sound High Density Acoustic Foam Wall Panels and Azaeahom Anti-Slip Reusable Carpet Tiles. At the entrance, students will wipe their feet on the Notrax Brush Step Carpeted Entrance Mats before entering a space illuminated by programmable LED lights mounted inside Muzata LED Baseboard Lighting Channels and Orac Decor | High Impact Polystyrene Crown Moulding.
Inside the room, guided by The Art of Game Design, students will do the work of environmental storytelling using sound, speech and music. After all, games are experiences that use characters and the senses to tell stories and create opportunities for players to engage. Worldbuilding is more satisfying when students can bring their worlds and timelines to life.
Inside the studio, students can sit on GrowDaily Drum Thrones, use instruments on the STRICH Guitar Wall Mount, and monitor sound using the Sony MDR7506 Professional Headphones. If they want to record video of performers, they can use the Metal Phone Tripod Mount and the UBeesize 12'' RGB Selfie Ring Light with Stand.
Electronics in the space will be accessible using the USB adapters, cable locks, adhesive hooks, and HDMI to RCA Converter. Students will use dry erase markers, EPSON 320 Ink, and card sleeves to brainstorm and collaborate on games, and create exciting original card-based games.
