This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our school we love the Performing Arts. All students are excited to receive instruction in Dance as well as Music. Several times a year our students perform on stage with our after-school group, the The Performing Arts Company. We would love to have the resources to video our performances onstage for our arts group as well as the classroom and rehearsal process. This technology with help us stay connected even when rehearsals and classes are missed from hurricanes and away from the classroom
For our performances and practices, we would love the technology to record full-length concerts.
Small recordings can be done on our phones, but we lack the storage space and battery life to rely on them for working with young performers. To accommodate filming while using our advanced sound and light system, we need better quality sound and lighting balance within the video recordings. The Sony ZV-E10’s image stabilization system has the ability to shoot video footage when students are in motion. On the Sony camera the microphone is optimized to capture sound from in front of the camera, recording performer's voices clearly even when in a crowd. Most importantly, it will have enough memory and battery life to capture our precious moments.
I hope you consider donating to our project. If funded, having a video camera will allow us to record the performances that we work very hard to create. It will also help us in the rehearsal process to record and give instant feedback to students as well as share with parents their success in the class and in performances. This would be a great resource for students to view themselves to make improvements in performance, or catch up on missed rehearsals.
