Help me give my students Soprano recorders.
The introduction of recorders is the most exciting time of the semester for my 3rd graders.

My Students
My students range from Pre-K to 5th grade where there is a wide range of English Language Learners and students who require free and reduced lunch services. The school receives title one funding in a urban setting with many of the students living in the neighborhood.
Being the music teacher I am able to teach my students the universal language of music.
My students have shown great dedication to their note reading to prepare them for not only singing music but performing music on instruments.
My Project
The introduction of recorders is the most exciting time of the semester for my 3rd graders. The 3rd grade is when students begin to put their note reading skills to life by performing with their very own instruments. Students begin learning how to read music in 2nd grade to prepare them to perform pieces on the recorders in 3rd grade.
Practicing with recorders helps students with their musical notation reading.
Recorders are the first step towards instrumental music where students learn that music is not just about singing but about various other musical tools that they can further use their skills of reading music.
I meet with each 3rd grade class on a weekly basis where we will be working on pieces such as "Hot Crossed Buns," "Twinkle Twinkle," and they will be asked to write their own four beat pattern which they will perform on their recorder for the class.
